The United States Peace Corps is preparing for our annual 10-week Pre-Service Training (PST) Program to be implemented from July to September 2010. During the training, American Peace Corps Trainees will live and work in Cambodian communities outside of Phnom Penh in preparation for their two-year service as Health Educators.

To provide quality training, the following short-term contract position (June 29 – October 2) is available.

Health Education Lead Technical Trainer:

Terms
• Successful applicants should not expect any vacation time during the above-stated period.
• Must be willing to live in rural villages from July to September 2010
• Salary will be according to Peace Corps Cambodia guidelines
• Work days are Monday through Saturday
• Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to perform a variety of duties

Position Summary: Responsible and accountable for the overall design and implementation of the Health Education technical training of the Pre-Service Training (PST) Program, about 100 hours of training over the 10 week period. S/he is the person responsible for designing specific training sessions to meet the needs of new Volunteers going out to work in rural health centers, thru lectures, guest speakers, field trips, hands-on activities and homework assignments. Coordinates closely with 4 other Training components on content and logistics; Provides support to Health Education Trainees as a professional resource and trainer and to other Trainees and PST staff as needed. POSITION
Health Education Lead Technical Trainer
REQUIREMENT

Duties include:

* Curriculum Development and Implementation
* Evaluating Trainees and Training Effectiveness
* Team Building and support of other Training Staff
* Documentation and Presentation of PST findings

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Master’s or Bachelor’s degree either in Public Health, International or Asian Studies, Public Administration, Organizational Development , Education or other relevant subjects/related fields;
2. Two years experience in training in a multi-cultural setting, with at least 1 year experience at as a trainer;
3. In-depth knowledge of the Cambodian health care system, preferably outside of Phnom Penh;
4. At least one year experience working in rural Cambodia.
5. Native speaker of English. Able to communicate effectively with American trainees and trainers.
6. Excellent facilitation and presentation skills; comfortable leading training sessions for big groups
7. Ability to work effectively within cross-cultural teams, including American trainees, American and Cambodian staff.
8. Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills,
9. Volunteer Service experience preferred (e.g. Peace Corps, VSO, AVI, etc.)
10. Personal skills: flexible, adaptable, reliable, sense of humor, sensitivity to gender and diversity issues.
